Geothermal
Geothermal heat pump systems have been known for decades to be one
of the most efficient methods for heating both small residential
homes as well as Large Commercial facilities. There are two methods
used in these systems, Closed Loop and Open Loop. An Open Loop
system uses the water from a water well and after running through a
heat exchanger and then the water is discarded either to a surface
area or an injection well. This method is very efficient, but
requires the use of potentially more than the 5000 gallon per day
maximum usage that is the most any exempt well can use in accordance
with Washington State Department of Ecology regulations.
A Closed Loop System though is not effected by that regulation since
no ground water is used, we drill a borehole to a predetermined
depth and install a loop pipe and completely pressure grout the
borehole with thermally conductive state approved grouting material.
These loops are then connected to each other underground and then
trenched over to the mechanical area of the home or office and then
heat exchanger there at the furnace equipment can circulate the loop
liquid, which in turn heats the building.
Our Drilling equipment is state of the art, and utilizes a drilling
fluid to keep the borehole open during drilling and loop
installation. The Trailer mounted drilling fluid system cleans and
recirculates the drilling fluid while the excess material is
disposed of.
